A brief introduction to the library and its mission
The library provides free services to residents living within the City of Woodburn or surrounding rural areas of Marion County, with services available to all others for a fee. The library is a member of the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service, which allows patrons access to the materials and services of the 18 member libraries in Polk, Yamhill and Marion counties. The Woodburn Public Library is part of the Community Services Department of the City of Woodburn.
The library makes available approximately 75,000 items in English, Spanish and Russian, including books in print, audio, and electronic formats, magazines, DVDs, and music CDs.
In total, almost 165,000 items were borrowed from the library during fiscal year 2010-2011! Additionally, almost 200,000 people visited the library to use print and electronic reference tools, access the Internet through the library’s 14 public computers or free Wi-Fi, participate in family storytimes, participate in our Summer Reading Program, or attend the Music in the Park summer concert series and market.

As such, it strives to provide the people of Woodburn with free access to world-class resources that foster a love of reading, engagement in the popular and civic culture, and independent investigation of our local and global community.
