Computer Classes Take Adults Back to School
Lots of library programs, including our new one-on-one computer classes.
In the library, Labor Day marks the transition from summer to autumn. And while the kids are already back in school, the library is offering an opportunity for adults to take a class or two, as well. As of September 1, the library offers One-on-One Computer Classes for adults. Each class is a half-hour long and is scheduled in advance. This is your opportunity to work one-on-one with a librarian who will teach you one of the following skills:
- Computer Basics, including mouse and keyboard skills;
- Internet Basics, which will get you started on the information super highway;
- Web Search, which focuses on how to find things using Google;
- Library Catalog & Databases, which focuses on how to find books and other information using the library's online tools;
- Email, where you will set up your own free online email account;
- Facebook, where you will set up your own account on this popular social media site.
These 30-minute sessions must be booked in advance by calling 503-982-5252 or by speaking to a librarian at the Adult Services desk. Times are availabe on Mondays from 4-7pm or on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5-7pm.
Please consult our event calendar for a full listing of our many library events.
Also, please remember the library will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 5.
